Ride Sunday 30 January

Claire, Rob, Wayne, Carolyn, Paul and I set out on a real adventure on Sunday. Carolyn is only just getting back on her bike and into riding after a hectic injury so we thought we'd go easy on her....whatever!!!! What does she think this is? We are training for Sani2C and what we conquered today was only a third of the first day of Sani - in other words - 1 ninth of the Sani....

37kms of mud, river crossings, single track and one obstacle after another, we giggled and fought through it all...few times laughing so hard we couldn't even get on our bikes. We so wished we had our camera, there were some priceless moments...but the moment of the day was when we were trying to cross one section of the river where the bridge was washed away and Paul knocked into a tree releasing a swarm of very angry wasps and he got stung about 5 times. Tip of the day...carry antihistamines with you in the bush...you never know who may be allergic. Lucky for Paul he wasn't - his arm just swelled slightly but he was okay. Looking forward to the next ride....
